rey-o: I consider myself a fairly decent Street Fighter player and even so, a lot of those techniques in the training mode are near impossible for me to pull off. I've even looked them up on YouTube to see what the timing should be (they don't mention timing in the directions, which is a bit of a hurdle). But still no deal! I'll stick to my so-so online record and local multiplayer (where I can elbow people that are cheap, haha).

Sagat's fake kick in particular, that is just...totally stupid and impractical.

There are so many attacks in the training that you have to wonder about... until someone whips them out on you online, and then you cry. It has happened to me.

i rarely run into anyone playing at those high levels... Although in championship mode the sooner you enter G2 from G3 the competition gets  A LOT better for sure... You start seeing Focus saves and stuff a lot more. And the Shoryu Cancel Ultimate combo.

The SFIV EVO finales are happening pretty soon, you can catch the live feed here: http://evo2k.com/live/

Despite the feed's terrible quality I haven't been able to tear myself away from it all weekend long. There's already been quite a few awesome moments, some of which have been collected here: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=ProtocolSnowMD&view=videos&sort=v

BC101, totally - that dude is my hero.

I learned a lot from watching the live feed, even stuff like how calm and level headed Daigo was, has really helped my game out. A part of me was cheering for Justin Wong, he managed to climb all the way from the losers bracket to the finals, but his arrogance left a bad taste.

I played this game for the first time in two months this weekend, and I sucked at it. It made me sad.

I'm not too hot at it either, but I get a little bit better everyday. Every online victory tastes even sweeter especially since I've chosen to focus on E.Honda - a good if somewhat limited character. If I'm not using him I usually go for Gouken and if I just want to win I'll go for Guile (to say nothing of using Ryu/Ken).

To everyone: who do you like to play as?

Jorge - If you haven't already, youtube "sabre sakura" he's probably the best Sakura player out there, pulling off combos I've never really imagined possible with her!

Yesterday had a gaming session and in addition to SFIV we also ended up playing a smattering of older fighters, Marvel vs Capcom 2 on Dreamcast, Marvel vs Snk, and even Street Fighter ex plus alpha, my my how far we've come from those primitive 3D ps1 graphics!

I have this problem with fighting games: I can only play one for any specific time period. If I switch games, I'm instantly horrible at the new one. It's like I forget the rules of the game I'm playing.

Gotta get back into SFIV. Those Sakura videos are intense!

@Shaun - I'm like that too. I really only have a finite amount of space in my brain for video games, and a smaller portion of that is dedicated to fighting games, the majority of which is Street Fighter.  When me and my pals were on our 'Street Fighter through the ages' tour, most of the games we played were for the novelty of it, SFIV being the place where we went all out.

I'd like to play Blaz Blue or KOFXII sometime soon but fitting another fighter into my brain space...I don't think it's possible! Eventually maybe.

You can find videos of top players for each character - except of E.Honda! booooo.

Loving SF4 intensely. Suffering through Seth to unlock characters, though, is an ungodly nightmare that should be purged from the collective gaming conciousness.

Still, I have Cammy! I need nothing else now, as I can lay the beatdown with her and Dhalsim like it's Super Street Fighter II all over again. Well, and like Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but the former is more relevant as I played it more on keyboard than on console.

That's right, I fight on keyboard. ASDZXC with F & V bound to all-punch and all-kick FTW!

"rituro" on GFWL and Steam for all interested in experiencing Cannon Spike spam. ;)

Seth on all levels is weak to combos starting with deep drop kicks. They don't always work - but he's got a tonne of offensive moves that leave him WIDE open for a drop in attack.
