I was thinking the other day about how much I lurved Transport Tycoon Deluxe, and how awesome that would be with updated graphics and sound.

What about you folks?  What sorts of games do you wish they would remake?

Also, I love the remake of Colonization but it sucks that they don't have the original soundtrack.

There's a lot of interesting gameplay bits going on in Blaster Master (the old Nintendo game) that I think would translate well into a shiny new game.

Blaster Master had a variety of weapons, a crazy tank, a frog that went down a hole, two different game play view points, AND a kick ass soundtrack. Add in spiffy graphics, some online play, and you've got something special.

A remake that I have always wanted is for Faxanadu. It's an NES game. It was a side scrolling action rpg. I love that game so much. I'm really annoyed that it hasn't been released for the Virtual Console.

Oh, oh, another game. Terranigma. I never had the chance to play a legal/physical copy of this game, but it was a great game for the SNES.

Also, I love the remake of Colonization but it sucks that they don't have the original soundtrack.

I really liked Colonization back in the day, but I always hated that they had Spain (understandable), England (understandable), France (wtf), and Holland (meh), yet where was Portugal.

Have they added Portugal to the new Colonization?

X-wing... Updated graphics but same basic engine and possible online ability would be ace... Something like the RE5 thing where you can invite/have random peeps help you out with certain missions. It would make missions like disabling the X-wings with Y-wings MUCH more tolerable LOL.

Road Rash! im thinking Road Rash 3D brought back to life on PSN, Live and Virtual Console, polish the graphics abit, maybe add a few new features and Bam! instant classic. Also they need to remake Skitchin'. It was an old Genesis game that had alot in common with Road Rash but you were on inline skates and you had to grab onto the bumpers of vehicles to get yourself moving, it was a race more or less but the endless amounts of fun it was to punch other skitchers off the backs of vehicles you were on just... oh my goodness! Remake that game someone!

Road Rash 3 for Sega Genesis on Virtual Console, please and thank you. (Hey, it could happen... Shinobi made its way to VC!)

Arcade Shinobi, no less. That's pretty major. I don't think it's got the first-person bonus rounds in it though, does it?

I want a remake of Double Dragon.

Can confirm the bonus rounds are intact. Got my VC working again this weekend (resolution settings FTW on everything except Metal Slug 2, oddly) and spent a good deal of time trying to recapture my seven-year-old self's half-decency with Shinobi. So far, my fail levels are just below epic and slowly receding.

Dude. Shinobi on the Master System was freaking EPIC. It took me years to finally be able to beat the game. The jungle stage in the fifth "level" is INSANE. Those fly ninjas can kiss my ass. Also the fourth level - the one with Lobster at the end - those damn pit stages are the worst. I pretty much always lose a fully powered-up character by taking a pit.

Have you beaten Shinobi? It has the same damn ending whether you win or lose.

Sadly, no... I used to be able to breeze through the first two levels but the third tripped me up every time.

Now? Can barely get through the first boss, FFS. Argh.
