I think we've covered the big summer blockbusters, so let's move on. I'll start... Hey has anyone else seen the trailer for Shutter Island?

http://www.shutterisland.com/

I enjoyed the book some time ago and I remember being disheartened to hear DiCaprio was the lead. However, I found the trailer intense and definitely meshed well with the images I had in mind while reading the book. Seems very faithful to the story and visually impressive.

What do you guys think?

I read the book a couple of years ago and I enjoyed it, but since the movie is starring Leonardo DiCaprio I won't be seeing it.  I just don't like him as an actor.  The only movie that I enjoyed him in was What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

I am looking forward to The Road as I really liked the book and the trailer looks good.

I keep seeing the trailer for Ninja Assassin and it looks like a whole lot of fun.  The other movie that looks good is Invictus with Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon with Clint Eastwood directing.

But I have to say that I'm pissed that they are remaking Bad Lieutenant with Nicolas Cage as the star.  When will he realize that he is not an action star/superhero or a badass.  Is Hollywood completely out of original ideas for movies that they need to remake movies from the 90's?  Just because it takes place in New Orleans and not in New York doesn't make it a different movie.

Yeah I really want to see Ninja Assassin just because of how crazy it looks. I still have not seen Where The While Things Are but I really want to.

I was really hyped up about Where the Wild Things Are, but somewhere along the lines I lost all my enthusiasm for it. I think a part of it was the advertising, they made it out to be this hipster cool thing, blegh!

This isn't strictly a fall release, but James Cameron's Avatar looks pretty cool. Yes, it looks essentially like everything that's generic about video games today (aliens, space marines, big guns, big monsters) - but even still - I'm interested.

I heard that Where the Wild Things Are was aimed more at the adults who read the book as a kid and not necessarily at kids themselves.  A co-worker took her kids to see it and the kids didn't like it, but I'll probably check it wen it gets released on DVD.
