Looking at some of the clips that float around on the net of DN:F, I can see how silly it all is, and that in the intervening years the industry has outgrown the juvenile antics of Duke, or at least replaced 90's style silliness with a modern equivalentWorld War II clones.

For what I remember of Duke 3D, my uncles absolutely loved it. Me... I just couldn't see the huge appeal, possibly because I was still thinking Duke 2 was an awesome platformer (forget rocket-jumping, FLAMETHROWER-JUMPING, ZOMG) and didn't really start drooling over shooters until Half-Life and Deus Ex came along.
