Turns out, surprisingly, that not everyone who looks like a douche is Dane Cook.

Hahah oh man that made my week! Kudos

Is it just me or does it seem like Rituro might be holding a grudge? :P
3  Gaming / Sony / Re: NEW PS3 OMG! on: September 20, 2009, 09:36:21 PM
So I went out today and got my mitts on one of these new PS3 Slim thingamajiggers. Also grabbed an HDMI cable and Uncharted to really test this bad boy out! This was only my second time using a PS3 and first time actually installing one. Not exactly as simple as I had hoped. First impressions:

"Hmm... this thing isn't really slim" as I gave it the once over. It's just a bit smaller than a cable box and my last bit of open shelf space wouldn't do. In the end I had to set it on top of the old PS2 there. The older generation piggybacks the new!

So I popped in the HDMI cable and hooked that up first. Achtung! Not that way Chucko! Apparently you've gotta start with the AV cables and then it recognizes if you have HDMI hooked up. Only in my case it wouldn't. I spent the better part of an hour researching online and fooling with settings on TV and PS3. In the end I don't even know how I got it to work! Something clicked and the PS3 finally saw the HDMI cable and allowed me to switch to full 1080. As tempted as I was to throw a game on, first I had to check something out. Popped in a burnt disc and surprisingly found I could watch it. I know that's probably a minor thing but I was pleased. All I've ever had for watching movies was my PS2 and I did not want to buy a second DVD player in addition to the PS3.

Then I threw on Uncharted and have been playing that all afternoon. So far I am pleased with this system and the final price wasn't that hard to swallow.

Finally took the plunge and picked up a PS3 (slim) and Uncharted. That was around 1pm... where the hell has my day gone?! It's been a long time since a game has drawn me in like this. As rey-o mentioned, I've also found myself just exploring every inch of the levels. And I love how the game rewards you for that with each piece of treasure i've stumbled upon.

Having a blast so far!
5  Gaming / PC / Re: Should I review MadBalls: BABO Invasion? on: September 20, 2009, 08:51:27 PM
I think you stumbled onto something huge Shaun... Balls! Huge MAD BALLS that is! The press guy obviously got a hint of your ball reviewing talent and went into hiding, taking his precious balls with him.

Consider it for the best. Some balls just aren't meant to see the light of day.

Dammit Jorge... and I bet you didn't even need to use a hint coin either?

@Shaun - who do you have lined up for future interviews, or is it going to be a surprise? If it is just ignore me and don't ruin it for the rest of the class! I've heard Jean Chrétien is a huge gamer. Apparently he's a Batman when it comes to scrabble. Maybe he'll come on a podcast? :P

Jeebus Jorge, you've really got the patience of a Saint!

Funny, that's what she said! :P

Guys... you've just given me a brainsplosion! Why can't it be both? Brewhaha Coffee Porter. Give Mill St. a run for their money.

@Rituro - "Structure" that's the biggest thing to happen remember?! In that case episode 10 is scientifically proven to be the start of Season 2. Also I have no idea what possible reeference you're detecting in the number 420.

Maybe in the next podcast - and this is just off the top of my head mind - maybe for like 30 minutes Shaun, Adam and Jorge should play a video game in total silence apart from an awkward cough... genius! :P

Sometimes I like to use Batman in place of Badass i.e "That Batman is so Batman!" or "I can't sit down for long because of my Batman..."

Hmmm... nope, I believe you were actually thinking of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego

... I do.
15  Gaming / All Platforms / Re: Whats everyone playing? on: September 02, 2009, 11:52:15 PM
Yep that's the one. The second Donkey Kong Country game. I would have liked DK back as well, though it seems like a faster paced game without him. Them little chimps be acrobatic! You should try finishing it Shaun (and without saving :P) I remember it was really satisfying when I beat it back in 1995 or whenever... so much so that I haven't wanted to even look at the game till now.

Damn you Bramble Scramble!
